Does your child have the tools to live their best life?
As parents and caregivers, we want to provide the best tools to help our children thrive.
We spend time and money to help them find tutors, join sports, pursue hobbies.
They learn techniques to help them become stronger academically, physically, artistically.
What about helping them become mindful?
Do they have the tools to stop worrying?
Can they quiet the excess chatter in their heads so they can concentrate on finishing homework?
Are they able to unwind and fall asleep easily?
Do they know when and how to tell others “No”?
Are they able to understand and respect when other people need space?
Do they have tools to help them process big emotions like anger or frustration?
The Mindful Child provides the tools to help children thrive.
In this family program, children ages 6+ will learn healthy ways to understand their emotions and process them safely. They will discover how to self-regulate, become less anxious, gain confidence, understand and process their emotions. In each module, children and their adults will dive into mindfulness topics, practice engaging, kid-friendly guided meditations and let their creativity shine as they complete fun art projects and activities!
The modules are designed for children to watch with their parents/caregivers.
Here's what your child will discover:
1) What is mindfulness?
It is so easy to get caught up in past regrets and future worries. These invasive thoughts take over and make it really challenging to do everyday activities - from completing homework to falling asleep. In Module 1, Coach Lisa will lay the foundation for practicing mindfulness, the art of being in the moment NOW.
2) Ways to release stress and remove stressors
You are what you eat - and so is your mind! In Module 2, you will learn the different ways stress can sneak into our lives and how you can make it stop. Coach Lisa will also show you how to completely release stress - from the top of your head through the tips of your toes.
3) Why do we need boundaries? How to set them and respect them
If you play tag in someone's yard, and the rule is that you can't go in the street because it's 'out-of-bounds' - that's a boundary. It's important for people to have boundaries too! Boundaries help us stay physically and emotionally safe and help keep others safe too. In Module 3, Coach Lisa will explain why we should have personal boundaries, show you ways to respect boundaries of others, and empower you to let people know if they start to cross any of your boundaries.
4) How to understand and rethink anger/frustration
Anger can be really scary when we feel it inside and don't know what to do. Sometimes it's scary when we see others getting angry. It's a big, complicated emotion - but in Module 4 you will learn that anger isn't the big scary monster that it pretends to be! Coach Lisa will give you tools to help you sort out anger and understand where it is coming from. You will also learn how to release anger and frustration before it gets too big and scary.

As a mom of two adult sons with autism, Coach Lisa began her mindfulness journey back in 2013. She found it life-changing - it helped her shift her mindset to focus on the present moment without getting caught up in future worries or past regrets. She used these techniques to improve her own life and to help empower her children. She also has been a math instructor since 2015. As an educator, she saw students struggling in school and realized their anxious feelings were keeping them from learning. Some kids were worried about tests, some were afraid to ask for help when they needed it, some were afraid of failing. She noticed students were under a tremendous amount of pressure and lacked skills to help them calmly work through daily challenges. Coach Lisa made it her mission to help students find the tools to feel less anxious, gain confidence, and take control of their futures.
Coach Lisa first created this course as an in-person workshop series. She used her background in education and mindfulness to create an experience that would help local children learn about meditation and relaxation techniques. But they learned so much more!! The local kiddos discovered everyday things that they didn’t realize were causing them stress. They became confident to set and keep boundaries during the workshops and when they went home. There were "ah-ha" moments as they connected the anger workshop to their own past experiences. The participants weren’t passively listening - they were processing complex emotions and incorporating what they learned into their art projects, then carrying ideas from one topic to the next. Parents were asking for copies of the mediation scripts to read at night before bed. Coach Lisa wanted to give children everywhere the same opportunity to learn these skills, so she transitioned the workshops into The Mindful Child online program.
